Directions from Montreal & Northern Vermont (about 3-4 hours)
From Burlington, VT you can take US Route 7 all the way through Rutland, Manchester, Bennington
and into Williamstown.
Once you see the sign for entering Massachusetts and the Williamstown you will
travel a couple of miles and see the new college parking garage on the left just before reaching
the intersection with Route 2. When you get to it there is a, little tourist booth on the right and the
Williams Inn further back on the right. Turning left on Route 2, which is also Main Street will require
you to go right and circle around a little green with a very old little wooden house in the middle. You need
to do this and it will eventually put you on Route 2 East. You will pass Stetson and Hoxsey Street on your
right and Park Street on your left. As you continue over a little hill, the next left is Chapin Drive, the main entrance to Williams College.
You should see the Greek columns of Chapin Hall set back across on open space although the construction of the
new student center to the left on in the foreground will also capture your attention. Chapin is connected to Bernhard
Music Center on the right. After you turn in here you can look for parking, but you may need to drive past the
building before you find any. Note that there is no parking in the Congregational Church parking lot, particularly on Sunday.
Alternate Directions from Montreal & Northern Vermont
You can also take I-87 south to Albany and take the Bennington/Cohos exit. See below Directions from Albany and NY area.
Directions from Mass Pike, Lee, & Pittsfield (about 50 minutes)
Take the Lee Exit off the Mass Pike and go north on Route 20, which eventually joins with Route 7 around Lenox. Continue
north through Pittsfield staying on Route 7. (Do not take Route 20 which will depart to the left as you go through Pittsfield).
Route 2 joins Route 7 shortly before you enter Williamstown and you will see the sign for Williamstown long before you really
enter what appears to be the town. When you do there will be a kind of rotary or little green area with a very old little wooden
house in the middle and you will see the Williams Inn over on the left. Stay on Route 2 which is also Main Street, by basically
going straight, but taking a jog (left and then quick right) in the process. (Do not take Route 7, which goes off to the north
toward Bennington.) You will pass Stetson and Hoxsey Street on your right and Park Street on your left. As you continue
over a little hill, the next left is Chapin Drive, the main entrance to Williams College.

Directions from the Albany, New York Area (about 55 minutes)

Continue staying on Route 7 until you reach Route 22 (at least 15 miles). Turn right (which is south) on Route 22 and continue to North Petersburg (several miles).
At North Petersburg (basically a restaurant and gas station) take a left onto Route 346 and continue until you reach Route 7 (this is US Route 7 rather than NY 7 that you were on before). Turn right which is south towards Williamstown and in a few miles you will see the sign for entering Massachusetts and Williamstown. A couple of miles after that you will see the new college parking garage on the left just before you reach the intersection with Route 2. Directions from Boston (about 3 hours)
Take Route 2 all the way to Williamstown, which is very efficient, unless the weather is exceptionally
bad in the winter. Once you get to Greenfield follow the directions above. If you choose the Mass Pike,
see Directions from Mass Pike (Lee through Lenox and Pittsfield) above.
Directions from New York City (about 3.5 hours)
You can take I-787 and connect to Route 7 East, then follow the directions above and from Albany. This not the fastest way, but the Thruway is good in the winter. OR you can take the Thruway to the exit for the Mass Pike (signs say Boston and I-90 East) and get off the Mass Pike at the Lee Exit. Then follow Mass Pike directions above. It is also possible to take Taconic Parkway (which is a very pleasant drive) north from the city and it will connect to the Mass Pike, then go east to Lee and follow Directions from Mass Pike (Lee through Lenox and Pittsfield) above.
